Red-browed Finch

This very small Australian Finch mostly forages on the ground but does occasionally perch on grass stems to reach seed heads which this Male did when I captured this image. It is endemic to the whole East Coast of Australia form NE Queensland into SE of South Australia. It is highly sociable and moves in close-knit flocks.
