Comb Crested Jacana on Lotus Leaf

This Jacana is also known as the Jesus Bird or Lotus bird as it seems to walk on water when the leaves become submerged by its weight. In fact it walks on the Lotus lily pads to access seeds and aquatic insects in and on the water. This shot was captured at Yellow Waters in Kakadu National Park.
